NC law requires a political action committee ("PAC") to report all contributions received by the PAC. A PAC must report the name, mailing address, job title, or profession and name of employer or employer's specific field for each individual who contributes in excess of $50.00 per election cycle. Voluntary contributions cannot exceed $4,000 per election cycle.
Contributions to the NC Chamber PAC are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Voluntary contributions to the NC Chamber PAC must be written on a PERSONAL CHECK, charged to a credit card for which payment is made with PERSONAL FUNDS, or made from another state or federal PAC registered with the NC State Board of Elections. Funds from corporations or business entities of any kind are prohibited by law.
